Wadahadal Project

Karin-dabayl weyn established in 1985, is a small village in the east of the Sool region, located on the road 75 km from Las’ano. With an estimated population of approximately 380 Households, it’s a pastoralist community and one of the safest villages in the vicinity. The economic generation activities include rearing of livestock, selling merchandises and sale of livestock to nearby cities like Las'ano. While enjoying a relative calm condition, the community's main challenges include lack of schools and insufficient water for both humans and their livestock. With the introduction of the Wadahal-Dialogues project in the region, the community is taking advantage by showing their willingness to participate community initiatives and are ready to contribute to the chosen community project. The Wadahal-Dialogue project is helping the community realise its fundraising initiatives by creating a community to oversee the resource mobilisation activities and opened bank accounts. The Project will use Sokaab platform to track the contributions from community members and its diaspora captured through the created bank accounts. Through Sokaab, members of the public will be able to access these financial transactions online. Community contributions are expected to be contributed on a voluntary basis by the residents of Karin-dabayl weyn and its diaspora through Sokaab platform. The fundraising committee is requesting the community from Karin-Dabeyl weyn to contribute to the district project where the community will choose the priority project that they want to invest.
