Qoriley is a district in sool region which is 74 km south from Lascano, the capital city of sool. This village was established in 1966 which never had social services and the pastoralists when come this village to get medicine does not get. The people living in Qoriley and surrounding areas their live depends the livestock and their products and commodities brought from Lascano. The district does not have proper school which can’t cover the education needs of the residents. It also very limited for the health services and few health professional operates and also the medical supply is low which increases the health need of this location. There are small shops and restaurants where people manages their lives.The water sources are few compared to the population of the town. People are requesting from the diaspora communities, people living in major towns to support to get health to save the lives of mother and child who approximately every 10-15 children born in this town. Sometimes women died for bleeding after giving birth due to lack of enough midwifes, health centre and medical supply. When such cases of emergency arise the health professionals in the town can’t handle and the patient are taken to Lascano which is far and the road is long and not good to transport such kind of a patients. Qoriley community are demanding to support to get school, this village lacks school which is very challenging issues for the youth in this village.
The dialogue program for the resource mobilisation helped communities set up a resource mobilisation committee and opened bank accounts for each committee. The Project will use the online Sokaab platform to track the transactions of the bank accounts and contributions from community members. Through Sokaab, members of the public will be able to access these financial transactions. Community contributions are expected to be provided on a voluntary basis by the residents of Qorileey. The fundraising committee are requesting the community from saahdheer to contribute to district project where the community will choose the priority project that they want to invest.
