Sarmayo community have chosen to build a primary and secondary school and students have no places to study and when they finish primary school they go to other cities for secondary learning where students cannot find places to eat and sleep so Sarmayo community choose to build a school which curb their educational. There is no educational and health facilities in place. It has a population of 5540 people. These people do not have access to education and health. Thus Sarmayo community are ready to take advantage of the project. This village lack the basic health, education services like enough school for children to learn and proper health post which can serve the health services of this small village and pastoralists which comes far places in times of spring and autumn seasons. The village residents are highly requesting from the local communities, diaspora to support to get school. The fundraising committee started mobilizing the community to participate and contribute to the building of this school which is very important for this village and surrounding areas.
The dialogue program for the resource mobilisation helped communities set up a resource mobilisation committee and opened bank accounts for each committee. The Project will use the online Sokaab platform to track the transactions of the bank accounts and contributions from community members. Through Sokaab, members of the public will be able to access these financial transactions. Community contributions are expected to be provided on a voluntary basis by the residents of Sarmayo.
