A school meeting hall is an important structure in schools or in all educations institutions. It is where you can hold meetings for school advancement or school board meetings. It can also host any other event be it parent-teachers meeting, school educational competitions, awareness raising sessions or general announcements can be made. One such important structure is missing from Horseed primary school in Herkowaad zone of Luuq town and guess how the above mentioned events can take place or cannot! Horseed primary school accommodates a student community of more than 300 students, seven teachers and an administration that numbers close to 18. The school lacks a place to host the following events which are very important for school’s educational advancements: • Promotion of interclass educational competitions • Weekly teachers and management meetings • Teachers-parent meetings • General announcements • School awareness raising sessions After learning the DIALOGUE project, the school committee is now organizing the community in Luuq to contribute to building a decent meeting hall with all the necessary furniture to advance school’s education internally and externally. The DIALOGUE project is a resource mobilization initiative by DRC that contributes 50% of the total cost of community and public project to create trust between Somali people and their government in the management of their own development. Joint and support the school committee to build the meeting hall for the school to get a regular place for meetings to advance school’s education.
