Community centers are not just for seniors, not just for kids, not just for families. They can offer an enormous variety of educational, social and awareness raising activities, tailored to what the members of the community are interested in. Siinay village, 10km south of Doollow town hosting more 150 house holding doesn’t have community hall for community gathering or holding vital events. They want the community hall for two important reasons; for community meeting and fodder storage. “We harvest a lot of corn during the farming season but we have no storage facility, hence, it is lost around.” Says local farmer. The agricultural community doesn’t have a facility to store fodder and animal feeds during the farming season so that they can feed their livestock during drought season. Through the DIALOGUE project the community is now fund raising for two room meeting hall, one will be used for fodder storage and hold meeting for the other. The DIALOGUE project is a resource mobilization initiative by DRC that contributes 50% of the total cost of community and public project to create trust between Somali people and their government in the management of their own development. The community passionately appeals you to support them build the much awaited community hall for better community collaboration and cooperation. Every benny you donate will go directly to community managed account.
